Through a pilot prevalence study, the present proposal seeks to assess feasibility and provide preliminary data and insights into the prevalence of AD pathophysiology in Mozambique and Papua New Guinea – regions characterized by an extremely high prevalence of APOE ε4 allele (1) - utilizing plasma biomarkers (2) and to evaluate their association with cognition and comorbidities (3). Both countries have seen limited research on this subject, despite alarming projections in statistical data, emphasizing the urgency and significance of this investigation (4).
