Women of reproductive age are disproportionately affected by HIV, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa, where the burden of disease concentrates. Besides, pregnant women are at increased risk of infections, including HIV. Paradoxically, they are systematically excluded from clinical research and thus deprived of the best biomedical interventions. This projects aim to revert this health inequity by evaluating the safety and efficacy of new HIV pre-exposure (PreEP) interventions in pregnant and breastfeeding women at increased risk of HIV acquisition.
